Empowering Youth Through Sports
First Giving Project with Big James Connect FC
In December 2024, we proudly launched our very first giving project, partnering with the Big James Connect FC a team in Nairobi, Kenya. This milestone initiative was made possible through the incredible support of the St. Lawrence University Men's Soccer team, whose generosity and belief in the power of sport helped bring our vision to life.
Big James Connect FC, coached by James Omondi Oduor, former Kenya national team striker, plays in Nairobi’s Sub-County League and has become a beacon of hope for over 20 young boys from under-resourced communities. Beyond football, the project aims to foster leadership, create opportunities, and boost self-esteem through mentorship and organised sports.
Heavy Footprints played a hands-on role in supporting this initiative, from organizing and delivering gear to capturing the journey through photos and videos. With every pair of boots, jersey, and practice session, we helped build a foundation where talent is nurtured and dreams are within reach. Most of the kids were going to play at the sub county level without shoes. So that is where we try to make a change to allow all, to compete in the best conditions.
This was not just a gift, but a statement of purpose. A commitment to investing in youth, empowering communities, and making our first project one that sets the tone for everything we stand for.

Where Your Support Goes
After the success of our first giving project with Big James Connect FC, we are planning on our next mission to make an even greater impact — this time through education... ''lifes not all about football," We are raising funds to renovate a primary school in Kenya, with a goal to provide a safe, functional, and inspiring learning environment for students who deserve more. Many of these children are learning in overcrowded classrooms with broken desks, limited school supplies, and deteriorating infrastructure. With your help, we can change that.
Every shilling/dollar you give goes directly toward making this school a better place to learn. Here's how we plan to use the funds:

$60 = 1 brand-new desk (We aim to purchase 20 desks, totalling $1,200)

$10 = Class materials per student (Notebooks, pens, pencils, chalk, erasers, etc.)

$150 = 1 brand new black board for the class room

Remaining funds will support light classroom renovations — painting, repairing walls or windows, and cleaning up the space to make it a welcoming environment.

Heavy Footprints believe that education is the foundation for opportunity, and something as simple as a new desk or a working classroom can give a child the motivation to want to come to school and keep learning.

We are currently working towards renovating a class room with all basic necessities. we successfully launched managed to give soccer equipment to over 20 kids and plan on making that 50+ by the end of the year.
